The death penalty doesn't repsect the prisonner's duty. In fact they didn't know when the will be executated. So they "survive" with the angst of the death every time.
And I thnik, it's inhuman to give the death penalty even if a person comitted a horrible crime because you will be also a murderer ! For exemple, Victor Hugo was against that and he defends the liberty of human and also a guilty or a innocent
